To ensure that our racing program continues to provide a fair and structured path for driver development, we are clarifying the rules regarding the 21.5 2wd Buggy class.
The 21.5 2wd Buggy class is designed as an introductory environment where racers can focus on learning and honing their skills before moving into faster, more competitive categories. To maintain this "Independent" spirit, the class is reserved for drivers who do not have professional-level support.
Effective immediately, the following sponsorship restrictions apply:
No Chassis or Tire Sponsorships: Drivers who have a signed contract or formal agreement with a chassis or tire manufacturer/brand are ineligible for this class.
Class Selection: Any driver with a chassis or tire sponsorship must register for one of our other competitive classes (e.g., 17.5 / 13.5 buggy or truck).
We recognize that many sponsorship contracts are finalized around the new year. To avoid disrupting and penalizing hard work, we have implemented the following exception:
If a driver is currently competing in the 21.5 2wd Buggy class and obtains a signed chassis or tire sponsorship after the season has begun, they will be permitted to finish the remainder of the current season in the class.
The goal of this rule is to provide a level playing field for the hobbyists racers to grow their skills. We appreciate our sponsored drivers setting a professional example by self-selecting into the appropriate higher-tier classes.
If you have questions regarding your specific eligibility, please reach out to a race official before the next event.
